Photo Description – Morning at Dakesawa Marsh
From the serene Dakesawa Marsh, this early morning view captures the ethereal beauty of the Roppyakuzan Mountain, framed by the skeletal remains of standing dead trees and vibrant orange azaleas. The bright hues of the azaleas juxtapose beautifully with the lush greenery and the rugged mountain backdrop.
Story Behind the Photo – Capturing Spring’s Splendor In early June, the serene atmosphere of Kamikochi’s Dakesawa Marsh is bathed in the soft morning light. On this particular morning, the path along the right bank of the Azusa River led me to the mesmerizing sight of Dakesawa Marsh. The azaleas, in full bloom, stood out vividly against the backdrop of the stately Roppyakuzan Mountain and the lifeless yet dignified standing dead trees. These unique azaleas only bloom during this short spring window, making their vibrant display all the more special.
From an Amateur Photographer’s Perspective – Embracing Nature’s Contrasts Photographing in the early morning, the light is gentle and flattering, perfect for capturing the vivid colors of the azaleas and the serene greens of the surrounding vegetation. As more hikers arrived, drawn by the azaleas, I seized the moment to frame the perfect shot of the scene’s contrasting elements. The juxtaposition of the colorful flowers, the stately mountain, and the serene wetlands exemplified the quiet beauty of Kamikochi. Each shutter click was a meditation on the harmony of nature, the fleeting beauty of the azaleas a reminder of spring’s transient splendor.
