Senkoji Temple is a prominent landmark in Onomichi, perched halfway up Mount Senkoji at an elevation of 140 meters. This photo was taken from the base station of the Senkoji Ropeway, which offers a scenic ride up to the temple. The temple itself is a historical gem, known for its panoramic views of Onomichi Port and its vibrant seasonal foliage. Visiting Onomichi for the first time, I had a brief window to explore this charming city. The cloudy skies seemed to wash out the colors, but standing at the base of the ropeway, I was captivated by the view of Senkoji Temple nestled in the lush green hillside.
