Story Behind the Photo – Rediscovering Taisho Pond: In the early morning of early June, my journey through Kamikochi led me to the tranquil Taisho Pond. It had been 17 years since my last visit, and I was struck by how much the landscape had changed. The once numerous standing dead trees had significantly diminished, leaving a more expansive view of the pond. Despite the thin clouds obscuring a perfectly clear sky, the reflection of the Hodaka Range on the calm water surface provided a beautiful new perspective of this changing yet ever-beautiful location.
From an Amateur Photographer’s Perspective – Embracing Change and Reflection: Arriving at Taisho Pond after a morning hike felt like reaching a serene destination. The thin veil of clouds offered soft, diffused lighting, perfect for capturing the tranquil reflection of the Hodaka Range.
