Sunset’s glow on peaks so grand,
Alpine heights where spirits stand,

Nature’s touch in a sacred place.

Story Behind the Photo – A Return to Kamikochi
On an early June evening, I revisited Kamikochi after 17 years. Guided by a favorable weather forecast, I decided to spend a night there to capture the evening and early morning beauty. Upon arrival at the bus terminal, I headed straight to the Azusa River. The sight of the Hotaka Mountain Range and Dakesawa Valley, unchanged and as majestic as ever, greeted me. This photograph was taken as I stood by the river, marveling at the familiar, yet ever-stunning landscape bathed in the gentle sunset glow, a scene visible only to those staying overnight in Kamikochi.
